Starting Over. Welcome

This is my new idea for this blog. I have changed the title as well as the purpose of this site.

At first I wanted to use this blog as a way to vent out frustrations on, well, just about anything. However, after leaving this project alone for quite some time I have come to realize that I can take my feelings and put them to better use.

I have been dancing since I was 3 and have studied dance in college for the last 4 years. I teach children and hope to one day be a professional choreographer as well as have my own dance company. I also work in community theater in Queens and dream of winning a Tony. (Who doesn't?)

What I would like and aim for this site to be is a place where there can be thoughts about what dance is and discuss specific performances and pieces and to bring awareness and education to others. I would also like it to be a place where people can share opinions and analytical thoughts on dance, theater and performing.

I look forward to this project.

Cheers!

Doctors' Offices

Everyone, at some point or another has had to go to the doctor's. I don't know about anyone else, but for me the worst part of the visit isn't the inevitable needle that is going to make you tired, or sneeze or just plain sick- nope- it's the WAITING! The actual once look over by the doctor and the action of having being stabbed take minutes/ second even. Its the part before that is utterly ridiculous.
For example: In order to take my dance class at college i need to have a physical activity card. But in order to get that i need to get a paper filled out by my Doctor. But in order to do that i need to pee in a cup and have some blood taken. Now, I'm a very busy person, so i figured i could go a morning before work BC i have to be there at 10.
So, this morning i woke up at 715 and was at the place and signed in by 830. There was no one at the front desk, and hardly any people in the waiting room. But then what happened was time went by, and by, and by and by until eventually 45minutes had passed and the density of the room had tripled.
All of a sudden, "they" were "behind schedule" and were taking appointment people first. What did this mean? That people from far and wide were just strolling in 5minutes AFTER their appointment time and walking right in. I'm sorry, did i get knocked in the head because the last time i checked i was definitely not in Disney world and there was no fast pass line! so what the hell?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I ended up having to leave before i could get any of my tests done, plus a ticket on my car, and i was late for work.
If anyone has any idea as to why stupid lazy pieces of..... are in charge of running a simple center where you draw blood and label a pee cup please let me know.

College

So I get that these days everyone "needs" to go to college if they expect to do anything in their life. Unless they want to work at Burger King or McDonald's or something, and even then I feel like you need a BA in something to do that. Well that's all well and fine, but then we (the students) should be able to take a break, and I don't mean the "month" if intersession between semesters. I mean like take a year off to do whatever it is you want to do, find yourself, backpack, even live somewhere else for that year. Think about it. From the time you are 4, maybe even 3 if you go to nursery school, you are going to school for 10 months out of the year! NON-STOP! The system makes you take the same classes over and over again, especially when it comes to high school and college, and then you're expected to know what to do with the rest of your life. People make it sound so easy for students to study abroad. But if you don't have the money, you're not going. So, there goes the getting out of a classroom experience.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Students do have options. One, loans are crap. Because long after your experience is over, you will still be paying it off. Also, guess what, not all students have the luxury of taking some time off.

I have Juvenile Diabetes. I was diagnosed at 4 1/2 and have been on insulin injections for 15 years. I am covered under my parents' medical plans until I am 25, which is even longer than "normal" kids. But the second I even become a part time student (much less take a break) I loose that coverage and I have to either try and find a full time job that will take me without college (even though i would go back to school) and then pay hundreds of dollars in fees and co pays.

I do not understand it. Not one bit. If you are not in "perfect" health or rich, you are trapt in the system that society has created, which is not the best one, or even a very good one at that.

Black Friday Rant

SO, i understand that this is supposed to be the biggest shopping day of the year, and that is great because of all the huge department stores and corporations that can afford to do put things at 50, 60 and 70% off. good for you. However, as my good friend likes to put it, we are going through an "economic nightmare." In case some of you do not know what that means, ill tell you:Some stores that are small and owned by hard working individuals and not stock holding billionaires have it tough. They are lucky to have people they can count on to simply open the store doors on time. So on black Friday when we cannot offer you FREE CLOTHING AND OTHER MERCHANDISE and open for you at a pointless hour- DO NOT BE NASTY AND UNGRATEFUL, and stop being cheap! we need to live too!

I hate Bloging

This is my first blog. I understand that I entitled it "i hate blogging," but this is because it is true: i hate blogging. However, there are probably no good reasons for my hating it. Honestly, it just like a myspace or facebook (which i have both), instead you directly post your thoughts and feelings, which in essence is better because then there can be no mistake in judge of character or opinion (for the most part). So, because i have no real reasons to dislike the action of blogging, and a couple of people have suggested i should do it to help my anger management issues, i figured what the hell.
Basically, i want to make this a place where i, as well as others, can come to vent on the things that otherwise they feel they cannot say to friends family or in public. For example, that most people in the world are dumb. Sad but true. Now, anyone who knows me, knows that i do not hide the fact that i think most people are stupid, but i know there are those who feel bad about voicing such things to others. Its not wrong, at least i don't think its wrong, because it is true. If you have never experienced a blatantly unintelligent person in your life, PLEASE RESPOND, because i would like to know where you live and move there, and or move you here because it must be make believe where you are and then you seriously need a reality check.
Anyway, the bottom line is this is my blog. I got over the whole "hating" it thing because i actually never tried it, and my sister always said that you need to try something before you can say that you hate it. Here's to happy blogging!
